Brad Geagley is the author of two critically acclaimed novels, “Day of the False King” and “Year of the Hyenas”. He has worked for many years as a producer in the entertainment industry. The film that changed Geagley’s life — or at least turned him into an expert on Cleopatra — was Joseph Mankiewicz’s 1963 film starring Elizabeth Taylor in the title role. In fact, Geagley learned so much about the Egyptian ruler that he was asked to contribute to Ken Burns’ two-hour AMC documentary, “The Film That Changed Hollywood”. Mankiewic was Geagley’s mentor at USC film school. Geagley currently teaches screenwriting at Mount San Antonio College in Southern California and lives in Palm Springs. He can be reached through his Twitter account, @BradGeagley.
His newest novel, “The Stand In”, is a sexy noir, crime-thriller set in Hollywood in the 1950’s. It is available on Amazon Kindle, Barnes and Noble eBooks and the iPad, through the iTunes bookstore for only $4.99. Murder, movie moguls and intrigue for the price of a cup of coffee.
Hi Brad, thanks for the like on my new site thedevilsroad.com….i have just collapsed and re structured it in a different way with a different url and new material will appear regularly in the coming weeks, though this is a beginning of course. i hope to cover obscure writers or works, whether ancient or contemporary. and will see where the site takes me from there.
Congrats on your new site, can’t wait to see it and the direction it takes you.
Best,
Brad

Jolea, Writers have to stick together.

“A noir thriller for less than a latte.” That’s a great pitch, Brad. I would steal it, but you gave me another idea, which will work well here in Austin: “A noir thriller for less than a breakfast taco.” Problem is, a lot of slackers here would rather have the breakfast taco AND the thriller AND a place on the guest list… but hey, that’s another story.
I’m glad you liked the tagline. I love Austin! It’s the only place I would consider living in Texas!
Brad
So nice of you to check out my new blog (and like a post too). I really wish you had a “like” button for your latest post (on Writerly Resolutions). I really enjoyed it. Especially the part about Wikipedia.

You know, I finally found it (I think), just before I read your reply. It seems the little bugger keeps moving around on me (probably because I just updated my browser or something).

Hi Brad, thanks for dropping into my site. I went to Egypt a couple of years ago and am fascinated by ancient Egypt, so your knowledge sounds fascinating. I also like the sound of your new book, The Stand In – I’ll be getting it soon.
Hi Brad.
Thank you for the ‘like’ on my review of Espedair Street. Good to know that the blog I only started a week ago is already getting views from people other than my friends. 🙂
Charlie
Sure, Charlie. Hang in there and keep writing!
Brad
Thanks Brad for the like on my post about my ancient Egypt novels. Agree that writers need to stick together – as do all we lovers of the Nile!
Sandra, My first two books were Egyptian mystery novels. It captured my heart and mind like no other place. I was lucky that my editor at Simon & Schuster, Michael Korda felt the same way and championed my books. Thank you for reading the blog. I’m excited for you to read a chapter excerpt from new novel, since I’ve propelled myself into Hollywood 1957 for this latest mystery.
Best,
Brad

A sincere thanks for the ‘Like” on my ‘In WITH the Old’ post at withsims.com. Empowering others to surround themselves for success is my passion and what the blog is gong to be all about. I am glad it made an impact on you.
From reading you comments and blog, its clear you are surrounded for success. Best of luck WITH your goals in 2012.
Maybe we can catch up – I’m headed to Palm Springs for a video shoot over Presidents Day. I would love to connect and build a connection WITH you.
Thanks for following my blog, glad you’ve enjoyed it. Your new book sounds well worth checking out – 50s Hollywood noir, what’s not to like?
I hope you do like it. Can you download from Kindle in the UK? I’d love to know.
Best, Brad
I’ve seen quite a few people with Kindles on the train so I guess you must be able to. Apparently there’s something called the Amazon Cloud Reader that should allow me to read Kindle books under Linux, so I’ll have to give that a try sometime. I did enjoy the excerpt from The Stand In elsewhere on this blog.
Hey Brad,
Thanks for “liking” my blog post today. Self-publishing is something I will accomplish over the next several months. It’s been a WIP since giving up (for now anyway) on traditional models.
I’m excited to download your new book. Sounds right up my ally…
Deb
Congratulations! I have nominated you for the 7×7 Award.

Following the trend of apparently everyone else leaving a comment on this post…thank you for finding/liking my post on The Thirteenth Tale. I honestly didn’t think people would read my blog so it was amazing to have a reputable author acknowledge it. I will definitely have to read and review some of your books, especially the historical fiction.
Thank you again,
Jenna

Brad, thanks for reading my review of The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, and clicking “Like.” You seem like an interesting guy, so I followed you on Twitter. I see you’re a Cleopatra fan. On Episode 5 of the Live from the ManCave podcast, we discuss what actresses we would replace Angelina Jolie with in the upcoming blockbuster about the Egyptian queen. We also briefly discussed what we thought of Jolie’s casting in Episode 4. You can download both podcasts for free at http://www.livemancave.com or iTunes, if you’re interested.
