Brad Geagley is the author of two critically acclaimed novels, “Day of the False King” and “Year of the Hyenas”. He has worked for many years as a producer in the entertainment industry. The film that changed Geagley’s life — or at least turned him into an expert on Cleopatra — was Joseph Mankiewicz’s 1963 film starring Elizabeth Taylor in the title role. In fact, Geagley learned so much about the Egyptian ruler that he was asked to contribute to Ken Burns’ two-hour AMC documentary, “The Film That Changed Hollywood”. Mankiewic was Geagley’s mentor at USC film school. Geagley currently teaches screenwriting at Mount San Antonio College in Southern California and lives in Palm Springs. He can be reached through his Twitter account, @BradGeagley.
His newest novel, “The Stand In”, is a sexy noir, crime-thriller set in Hollywood in the 1950’s. It is available on Amazon Kindle, Barnes and Noble eBooks and the iPad, through the iTunes bookstore for only $4.99. Murder, movie moguls and intrigue for the price of a cup of coffee.

I’ve seen quite a few people with Kindles on the train so I guess you must be able to. Apparently there’s something called the Amazon Cloud Reader that should allow me to read Kindle books under Linux, so I’ll have to give that a try sometime.
